More than a million people live in La Paz, adding colour, culture and vibrancy to the otherwise dusty barrenness of a high altitude city. Steep, cobbled streets lead past red-tiled, crooked buildings, and the sidewalks are covered in colourful stalls selling local hand woven souvenirs.
