Opened in 2000, the Melbourne Museum is a showcase of modern exhibition standards. The Bunjilaka, which explores the history of Aboriginal culture in Victoria, the Science and Life Gallery, focusing on insects and spiders, the marine world and Australia's local flora and fauna and the Children's Museum, are the most notable galleries.
