The Monte Carlo Rally takes place annually along the winding, scenic roads and passes of the French Riviera, culminating at the finish line in Monte Carlo. Since its inception in 1911, the rally has grown to become one of the most famous and prestigious races on the circuit.
Each event attracts the top racers and the finest cars. Hordes of spectators line the road in often alarming proximity to the vehicles racing by at speeds of up to 160 mph (240km). Many of the cars can be viewed prior to the event at a special exhibition in the town hall.
